Here you have a beautifully hand woven bicycle basket with pink, orange and black tribal patterns from Ghana.
Woven by a partner weaving cooperative in Northern Ghana from an indigenous crop known colloquially as ‘elephant grass’, each bike basket takes around three days to weave once the grass is split, rolled by hand, and then dyed in boiling water.
Our bicycle baskets each tell an important story about collaboration and sustainable living. To become an owner of one of our woven baskets is to become a part of our journey, directly supporting the weavers in becoming less dependent on the unpredictable nature of self-sufficiency farming.
