About the material: cotton
The cotton is sourced from local farmers in Java, where it’s grown in naturally fertilised fields and handpicked with care. After harvesting, the cotton is separated, pressed into bales, and then combed and hand-spun into fine yarn. Our skilled artisans work on traditional wooden looms to weave each piece with precision and artistry. Known for its absorbency and skin-friendly qualities, our cotton remains unprocessed, which means it’s best to avoid tumble drying and to iron at low temperatures.
About the production site
This beautiful rug is handmade in Java, Indonesia. We prioritise fair wages and safe working conditions. We collaborate exclusively with experienced adult artisans; no harmful chemicals are used throughout production. Every step is done by hand, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint.
